Manifesto for the Future

Manifesto for the Future has you and your group choose a challenge; map stakeholders; explore the power shifts, learning, and compromise that would need to happen to address the challenge; and then write a manifesto sharing your vision of what the future will look like when your vision succeeds. It’s an opportunity to Seek Visions of Coexistence as you explore the ways people and groups with different perspectives could come together for a mutually-enriching future.

Facilitation Suggestions

The Manifesto for the Future resource provides three scenarios that you can begin with to craft your manifesto. Based on the ability of your group, you can pick one of these three, draft a personal scenario, or compose a fourth from an imagined future. As you go through the steps of the activity, take care to guide your participants through each one to ensure they’re fully considering different perspectives. You may want to reproduce the tools on a separate piece of paper if you need more space.
