How can we design inclusive futures?

“Who came before us? Whose histories have been erased? How might we reclaim their stories to enlighten new pathways forward?”
Aisha Bain

What is this approach?

The ability to imagine and prototype versions of the future in and with community. We need to learn to dream, imagine, and build together, side-by-side, with those who bring the wisdom and lived experience of how each potential story might play out across time.

Why is it helpful?

When we Seek Visions of Coexistence, we invite participation, honor individual and collective power, and make positive choices in ways that lift, fortify, extend, and embrace community.

How can I try it?

Use the questions in this deck to drive conversations about the future with your community.

Consider something in pop media (song, TV show, movie) that represents a vision of coexistence. What are the elements of that vision? What are incentives, systems and cultures in place that support this vision?
